Is there going to be league information on the GCFDA homepage as on the previous homepage? Having a subject on it in the forums is great, but it would be nice to have something on the front page, or at least under "Events" so that people visiting the website can clearly get info on it as many have done in the past. Only the people already in leagues use the league topic in the forum. Thank you. David

Yes, we want to make a league section, and we want to put you in control of it. Try to come up with a list or a general format for what you would like, Dave. It can be one page or multiple. You can have a calendar, announcements, general text, place to post files (results, forms, etc). If you have any web page experience that will help, but if not that's ok too. You can PM me or email the webadmin email if you'd like. Thanks.

Hey guys.... this isn't a problem, just a thought....... I love the photo gallery that you all made....... I was wondering if you have put the request out there for pics from people who may have tourney pics. Like the blue grass last year, and I know fred has pics as well.... I would love to see the gallery expand.......

If someone wants to be a contributor they can contact us. I'm not promising everyone this role as space is limited but the intention was for other to upload the pictures, not us.

Brad, is it possible to get more than 5 active discussion threads going at once? Several times I've seen threads get bumped out because there are more than 5 topics going at once. Thanks

Don't think I understand Fred, can you elaborate on which thread and what is getting bumped (and what bumped means in this case)?

I'll try, on "Active Discussion/latest posts" there are 5 topics visible at one time. If more than 5 topics are going at one time the oldest one gets bumped out of the top 5 so if an important topic gets bumped then someone might miss out on some info unless they go searching for it. Do you know what I mean?

Yeah, use the "Active Topics" link at the top of the forums page. That will give you any thread that you have not already viewed. Its personalized to your login.

We had to start you out with randomly generated passwords at first so that you could log in. Once you login, you can change your password to what you want. Just click on your username next to the "Logout" link. Then you should see a "Manage Password" link. You'll need to type your current password first, then you can pick a new one. It does have a some basic requirements for your new password though. I think it requires at least 6 characters or something. If you have problems, let us know.

This is a bug with how the users online is reported. Hopefully the next version of the forum software will resolve the problem. Also the number of guests may be inflated at times as there is some check the web provider does.

Our wednesday night league travels around to various courses and many of our players haven't been to these courses before. I'm hearing many people complain about the Yahoo directions that are given. In particular I seem to recall Williamsburg, Gulley, and Mason being mentioned.

Some of the coordinates were taken from the older site. They may not be totally accurate. I nudged the coordinates on Williamsburg a bit so that should be better now. Could you be more specific about the problems with Mason and Gulley. They look dead on to me.

Mike, others,
Why can't I post using multiple periods, you know, a trailing thought indicator (dot dot dot, etc.) either at the beginning or end of a sentence?
Also, after I post, a lot of times the page has expired ("A critical error has occured- Index was outside the bounds of the array"). Is that my slow work computer, or something else? I can't recall if the same problem occurs from my home desktop.

I have enabled trailing thoughts again..... I'll look into the error you are getting. I've never experienced it myself, so maybe it is a bug that has something to do with specific computers or networks. I don't think you are the only one to report it so far.

We had a discussion about this months ago. It's funny that you brought it up. I know it is an annoyance and I'm not usually a stickler for proper English, but there seems to be a lot people that put a profuse amount of periods in posts. I guess I don't understand the meaning of a series of leading or trailing periods on a sentence.

I have noticed I never get access to spell check. I see the button but it isn't available.
