You can go to my FB page for an updated map of the course. The flags are up so you can scope it out or play if you like.  The new holes are pretty nice.

you can expect a tournament to last all day...get there around 9 or earlier (depending on if you want to warm up before sign in/tee off, most tourney's tee off between 9-10) and finish around 4-5...each round will take 2.5-3.5 hours depending on size of field and also pace of play, some courses have holes that get really backed up depending on if it is after a particularly easy hole or if the hole itself is really hard.

Sorry for the questions. What do the different tiers mean?

When you say 'tiers', I assume you're asking if you should play Recreational, Intermediate, Advanced, etc? If it's your first tourney, sign up for Rec and come have fun with us!

I think it may be better to watch a tournament first before I play in one. Just so I learn the rules and etiquette.

Like Chris says bite the bullet and play. You will learn more by playing with others in a tourney than watching one. Reading the rules would be the best idea. Play well and have fun.
