Thanks JayDub, I just spoke with Midge, and she said it would be fine to come out today. I have a course map if I'm alone, but I'd be happy to go with any group that might be out there around 4. --Jeff A.

Update from Midge: The course will be available after 2:00 Sunday and of course Monday through Friday next week. Your league is playing here the 4th., but if anyone else wants to come out, it would not be a problem. As usual, please call first.

Update from Midge; Free play this week for players who will help us clean up the mess. We got hammered Friday night. For instance, the big Chinquipin Oak behind 5's tee is down. Miraculously, it straddled the tee pad when it fell.

I haven't seen 7-11, but everything closer indicates disaster back there, too.

As always, call before coming.

I don't think this would apply to the league. We are only charging them $2, and they won't have time unless they come early. If any of them wants to do that, they could play free at another time.

Stay cool, Midge

Bill just had a bad vertigo spell, fell and broke his foot so they are in need of tons of help cleaning up after the storm. Please consider helping for a few and get a fun round in after.
We are also working with them on possibly running a fundraiser event on Labor Day, anyone that wants to help let me know.

As always please call Midge first.cell (513-594-3791)

The course is cleared. The fairways for holes 7, 11, 14 and 16 have been opened up to be fair again. 17 and 18 might still need some work but that's for another day. The league plays there tonight, they should see the improvements if any of them have played there this year already.

If people playing in the league see anything they think should be/or they want to be cleared please post in here what hole you're talking about and a description of what you think or want taken out.

I have been discussing with Midge the possibility of running a fundraiser event on Labor Day.  We are tossing around different ideas such as mixed rounds like 1 round of singles event in the morning and a doubles round in the afternoon. Even possible to have a 3rd like last time we had a fund day of DG out there. Entry's with donatons will be on the cheaper side so everyone can play as much as they want. Mostly about having fun and helping others, could have some side games, ctp throw off, skill shot challenge, etc.

Midge's suggestion to which I like, " AJAS (Athletes Joined Against Spondylitis) It is a great cause for a little known and often misdiagnosed disease. Spondylitis usually strikes young men, so it would be an ideal charity for us to support."

Midge and Bill are waiving all fee's, they want us to donate everything to a local charity like the one she suggested, we could also make a donation to the EGDE program

What are your thoughts guys? And let me know if you want to help with organizing this event.

Update from Midge, This is the prettiest time of year at Cabin Creek, and we are offering a two for one special the rest of the month. The usual rules apply: call for tee time, and please call if you change your mind. The course is open Monday thru Friday, except for next Monday, Oct.23.

They can always use some help also.

Course is in EXCELLENT condition! And Midge/Adam are not lying, its by far the prettiest time of year for Cabin Creek. Peaceful, calm and usually not a sole to bother you! Also, a few pin changes, which makes the course play a little different.

Update from Midge
Cabin Creek will be open for daily play during January and February, starting next Sunday, Dec. 30. I am having ankle replacement surgery Jan. 14, so we will be staying home for the first time since 2001.
Winter price is 2/$5. Emphasize the importance of calling in advance, then calling again the day of play, just in case someone suddenly books a paintball party. Also, please call if they change their minds and won't be showing up. home 513-726-1048 or cell 513-594-3791.

I want to warn everyone that drives to Cabin Creek thru New Miami on Rt 127 in Butler Cty. They have a speed camera now, the last two times I drove thru there I got busted. 1 week later I get a citation in the mail, $95 a pop plus a $3 fee for paying it online.

So slow down as soon as you see the 35MPH speed limit sign in New Miami.

Wow, that's crazy. You don't get pulled over then? You just get the ticket in the mail? Ouch. Thanks for the warning. Too bad you didn't get one.

I'm pretty sure it's just $5, but I mean to tell you, the first time I played out there, on a beautiful spring day last year, with Midge checking I didn't get lost, and mowing a fairway or two ahead of me, I thought "I'd pay a lot more for how well she treated me!" --Jeff

People who didn't know Midge and Bill before they had the course may not realize how much it pleases them to have people come play their course.  thumbsup
