Fred, I have dug out the section for the wall on 9. I'm going to be putting it together on Wednesday. Do you have any extra gravel? I would need a wheel barrels worth to spread it out near the tee pad. Seen the new turf...very impressed! Thanks Fred, Mike

Mike, there is gravel in the back parking lot by #15. You can use trash buckets to haul it. Empty them on #1 big trash can and replace them when done. Use as many as you want. It's easier than hauling a wheel barrow around. Good luck and thanks.

Do we have printable course maps for the new layout yet? Are new maps available at Discndat or The Nati?

Hi NatiBuckeye, There's a nice pdf scoresheet and map at Disc Golf Course Review, or available through the Boone county Parks site: http://www.boonecountyky.org/parks/ParkInfo/EnglandIdlewild/DiscGolfMap.pdf

A couple of small things about updating Idlewild, nothing about the course itself, just some of the information about it.
The course is still listed as having 18 Holes of the PDGA website, which is where the information for ratings etc using the PDGA App come from. Could someone update the PDGA database with the corrected information about the 6 added holes?
Also on the PDF listed above from Boone County Parks and Rec, showing the scorecard and map has major errors on PAR. They figured the course par based on 18 holes (54) plus 15 additional strokes due to length/difficulty for a 69 par while the par should be 24 holes (72) plus the additional 15 for a Short course par of 87. The same error was made on figuring the Long course par, which should be 24 holes (72) plus 18 for a Long Course par of 90.

On hole 4, a very large branch (about 1' in diameter maybe a little less) has fallen right across the opening to the fairway. Blocks most of the gap. Chainsaw will definitely be required.

We cleaned it up this afternoon, thanks for the heads up. It was a huge branch. Now I can throw a big roller on that hole.

Some kids from the football teams have been wondering on the course and doing random damage. We have permission to run them off the disc golf course. So if you see kids on the course please ask them nicely to leave the course. We have Boomed county parks permission. Thanks

That's not vandalism - a tree fell on it. The tree has been cleared but the basket has not been replaced...

Idlewild will be closed sometime soon for upgrades on baskets. I am having the baskets powder coated to make them more visible and will have to close the course(unless you want to throw at poles) for a couple of weeks. Sorry for the inconvenience, it will be worth it. I will post exact dates asap.

The baskets were removed yesterday, Jan 22. They are getting powder coated and won't be ready till the end of next week. They might be in as early as Saturday Feb 2nd. I will post here if things change. Please pass this along to anyone who may be interested. You can see a pic of one I had done on Facebook at The Nati Disc Golf. Thanks for your patience.
